This is one of the most unique adventure experiences you can do in Seward — a private helicopter-supported paddleboard trip into the surreal world of Bear Glacier Lagoon.

You’ll lift off by helicopter above mountains, ice, and wild coastal terrain before landing beside a remote glacial lagoon filled with floating icebergs.   • Glacial water is extremely cold; guests with heart conditions should consult a doctor before booking
  • You will be outside for approximately 3.5 hours in changing Alaska weather — dress accordingly
  • All flights and landings are weather dependent
  • No drones, bear spray, lighters, battery packs, firearms, or alcohol
  • Loose straps must be secured before flight
  • We fly Robinson R44 helicopters
  • Maximum passenger weight is 299 lbs including clothing and gear
  • All guests are weighed at check-in for FAA weight and balance compliance
  • Seating is assigned based on aircraft balance and cannot be pre-selected
  • Groups of 3+ may be split between two helicopters, but remain together on the tour
  • Due to equipment sizing, guests must generally fit within approximately 4’10” to 6’6″ in height and 28″ to 48″ waist sizing
  • This experience is operated in partnership with Alaska Helicopter Tours, with flight operations and aircraft logistics subject to aviation safety requirements.

How long is the trip?

The total experience is approximately 4 hours, including check-in one-hour before start time, safety briefing, flights, and about 3.5 hours of guided exploration and paddleboarding.

How early should we arrive?

Please arrive 1 hour before your scheduled departure time.

Do I need paddleboarding experience?

No prior paddleboarding experience is required, but this is an active trip and best for guests comfortable with adventurous outdoor activities.

What is the minimum age?

Guests must be at least 13 years old, but please call to check availability for younger participants.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes. The helicopter passenger weight limit is 299 lbs per person, including clothing and gear.

Will we be weighed?

Yes. Accurate weights are required for safety and FAA weight-and-balance requirements, and all guests are weighed at check-in.

Can our group stay together if split between helicopters?

Yes. Groups of 3 or more may fly in two helicopters, but your group will stay together for the experience.

What should I wear?

Dress in layers and bring a windproof/waterproof outer layer. We also recommend sturdy closed-toe footwear, extra socks, gloves, a thin hat, and sunglasses.

What happens if the weather is bad?

All flights and landings are weather dependent. If the tour is canceled due to weather, it can be rescheduled if possible or fully refunded.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel 24 hours or more before departure for a full refund. Inside 24 hours, the tour is non-refundable. Weather cancellations are fully refunded or rescheduled.
