Kenai Backcountry Adventures operates a variety of trips all over Alaska ranging from day trips to expeditions.
Our guides are based out of the Kenai Peninsula for the duration of the season. Your experience, skills, credentials, and motivation will ultimately determine your trip assignments, number of trips, number of clients, and the type of trips you will guide. While some guides may only guide certain activities or trips, we seek “Swiss-Army” style guides that are able to guide a wide range of activities.
Selected guides will typically need to be in Seward, Alaska by May 15 to begin the required company training; our summer season runs through late-August to mid-September for most guides. Guides are responsible for their own personal transportation and housing while in Alaska. Company vehicles are provided for in-trip operations requiring passenger transportation.
KBA provides necessary group gear for our clients (tents, cooking equipment, etc). However, guides are required to provide their own gear, such as backpacks, clothing, boots, etc.; most technical gear required for trips is provided by KBA, however you are always welcome to use your own gear as long as it’s approved by the company. A detailed Guide Gear & Equipment list will be provided.
