A small group tour led by experienced bear guides to the best Alaska bear viewing and photography observation areas in Lake Clark National Park. After an exhilarating flightseeing tour from Kenai you’ll touch down in Lake Clark National Park and be led by your guide to a premier location to observe bears in their natural environment.
Your trip begins in Seward when your KBA Guide greets you at your place of lodging, or at a designated meeting point (cruise port, etc). You’ll then be transported to our flight office in Kenai; approximately a 2.5 hour scenic drive. But don’t worry, we make the drive a fun “road trip” experience, stopping for photos and looking for wildlife on the way!
Your experience begins with a scenic bush flight from our Kenai office, all the way to shores of Lake Clark National Park. The scenic flight offers up opportunities to see steaming snowcapped volcanoes, massive glaciers, and even some wildlife.
Once you arrive in the backcountry there’s always a chance that the bears may greet us near the airplane as they frequently roam through the area. We’ll set off looking for bears, a nice walk on the beach, through grassy meadows, and to a quiet place to observe bears in their natural environment.
After about 5 hours, it’s time to board the plane for the return flight to Kenai. Once again you’ll get another round of the best flightseeing Alaska has to offer. Then it’s back to Seward on another scenic drive. This trip is fully guided by Kenai Backcountry Adventures.
*Please, review the Details & Itinerary tabs for more information.
Adventures in the backcountry are our bread and butter. It’s all up to the bears and the time of season, but we like to take our guests to areas that aren’t crowded and require waiting in line just to stand on a man-made platform in the backcountry. Something about watching bears from a wooden deck feels a bit like zootopia… Maybe it’s just that we’re so used to seeing bears in their natural habitat all over the backcountry of Alaska during our expeditions, that a wooden platform seems so out of place. Join us and we’ll show you something special.
Meeting & Pick-Up Options:
We provide complimentary transportation from accommodations (if you don’t have transportation), and a central-meeting location within Seward (if you don’t have transportation or accommodations).
