THE ITINERARY
1 | Into the Heart of the Mountains
Your adventure begins bright and early at 7:00 am as you check in at our cozy Seward office, where you’ll be greeted with breakfast snacks and refreshing beverages to fuel your day. After gearing up, we embark on a scenic drive to the mountain zone trailhead at 9:00 am, the gateway to Alaska’s breathtaking backcountry.
The journey truly begins as we hike through lush landscapes and rugged trails, surrounded by towering peaks and panoramic views. Enjoy a hearty lunch on the trail, taking in the serene beauty that only the Alaskan wilderness can provide.
Upon reaching our secluded mountainside campsite, you’ll have time to set up camp and get settled. But the adventure doesn’t stop there! The afternoon is yours to explore, with guided hikes revealing hidden alpine meadows and breathtaking vistas.
As evening approaches, gather for a delicious wilderness-cooked dinner and a chance to relax, share stories, and revel in the beauty around you. Just when you think the day couldn’t get better, we’ll take an evening hike to catch the mesmerizing sunset views, painting the sky with hues of gold and pink. Drift off to sleep beneath the midnight sun, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.
2 | Morning Magic & Mountain Memories
6:15 am and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee welcomes the dawn. As the sun lights up the mountaintops, join us for a hearty breakfast in the gathering tent between 7:00 and 8:00 am, fueling you for another day of exploration.
The morning kicks off with an invigorating hike, unveiling even more of the rugged beauty of Alaska’s backcountry. Whether it’s discovering hidden valleys or standing in awe at the edge of a glacial overlook, every step promises unforgettable moments.
Savor a lunch in the tundra or back at camp, surrounded by breathtaking views and the fresh mountain air. In the mid-afternoon, we’ll break down camp, taking one last moment to soak in the majestic surroundings before descending the mountain.
With hearts full of adventure and cameras full of stunning photos, we make our way back to the trailhead for transport back to Seward. Expect to arrive at Kenai Backcountry Adventures around 4:00 – 5:00 pm. If you’re not quite ready to leave the wilderness behind, later return times are available upon request.
