ADVENTURE: Harding Icefield Trail Hike
POINTS OF INTEREST:
The group took the Harding Icefield Trail up through the outwash plains and got a stellar view of Exit Glacier. They were excited to explore in Kenai Fjords National Park.
WILDLIFE SIGHTINGS:
American robin, wolf tracks
MEMORABLE MOMENTS:
The group went for Olympic gold in the lesser known sport if “glasliding”, that is, sliding on your butt down a glacier! The longest slide of the day was 50 ft! The snow up on Exit Glacier continues to melt at a rapid pace. More and more crevasses are bring exposed, and the bright glacial blue color is showing more and more each day. Everyone in the group was amazed at how cold the outwash was, brrrrr!! The group saw the NPS trail crew out working hard on maintaining the trail, getting it cleared for the summer season.
