West Cook Inlet Fly-In Fishing Trips

These fly-in fishing trips depart from Kenai, AK and take place on West Cook Inlet. Depending on the time of year the guides will take you where fishing is the best! All fishing trips are fully guided, unless otherwise stated. Spinning gear, tackle and bait appropriate to the fishery is provided, and the guide will clean the catch.

SOCKEYE (RED) SALMON (June – July)

*Catch limit is 3 per person
*Allow for approximately 5 hours of fishing on these trips.

Fly west across Cook Inlet to the base of the Alaska Range. Fishing area is located where a small stream flows into a large lake. Water is usually very clear and the fish can be seen in large schools close to shore. This trip is a favorite not only for the great fishing, but it is an excellent place to view bear. Sightseeing enroute is great for bear, moose, seals, etc. The flight is about 25 minutes each way.

SILVER SALMON (Late July-August-September)

*Catch limit is 3 per person
*Allow for approximately 5 hours of fishing on these trips

Fly west across Cook Inlet to an area at the base of the Alaska Range. Lake fishing from a boat, or shore fishing on a river – we will take you where the fishing is best. Depending on which location you fish, flight time is 20-25 minutes each way.

  • Season: June – September
  • Departs From: Kenai, AK
  • Duration: 5 Hours
  • Gear: Spinning gear, tackle and bait appropriate to the fishery is provided. We have a limited supply of hip boots available to loan. We strongly recommend that if you have your own hip boots or chest waders, you should use them. Fly-fishing equipment is NOT provided, although most guides will provide appropriate flies if given notice that you will be using your own fly-fishing gear. Clients need to bring rain gear and lunch. Surfaces may be slippery, moderate walking may be involved. 
  • Meeting Time and Place: Daily departures at 7am. Guests must arrive at the Kenai office 30 minutes prior to departure to sign in and meet their guide. Directions to the Kenai office will be provided upon booking your trip. Courtesy shuttle from the Kenai Airport to the office may be available.
