No-shows, or late arrivals will be charged the full price and are non-refundable.

Kenai Backcountry Adventures reserves the right to refuse or terminate any participant from any trip, without refund.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Some trips require a Travel Insurance policy per guest.

Reservations not used at the time of departure, or late arrivals, (“no show”), are non-refundable and may not be applied or used on other trips.

Kenai Backcountry Adventures is not responsible for additional costs that may be incurred by delays or cancellations because of weather, flights, or circumstances beyond our control before arriving, or during the trip. There will be no refunds for such delays.

Kenai Backcountry Adventures reserves the right to change trip dates, itineraries, and/or trip details at our discretion due to weather, flight service schedules, and/or other factors that may arise at any time.

Trip charges do not cover the costs incurred as a result of inclement weather, illness, or other contingencies. Participants who vary from scheduled itineraries shall bear any costs thereof, which are not deductible from the trip prices.

Kenai Backcountry Adventures does not assume financial responsibility for any costs due to delays or circumstances beyond our control, such as inclement weather, mechanical difficulties, and a host of other factors that can delay, or prohibit travel.

Kenai Backcountry Adventures is not obligated to refund trip costs in full or part if weather or other factors make completing the trip impossible or dangerous.

We are unable to make exceptions, for any reason, to our cancellation policy including medical or family emergencies.

DAY TRIP RESERVATIONS (without aircraft)
Cancellations less than 4 days are non-refundable. After purchasing, reservation dates may be changed once at no charge by calling at least 48 hours prior to the original departure date (subject to availability of the desired trip). Each subsequent change will be subject to a $25 per person change fee.

DAY TRIP RESERVATIONS (with aircraft; bear viewing, fly-in rafting, etc.)
Cancellations less than 30 days are non-refundable, or non-changeable.

Your trip start time is also the same time you will be scheduled to depart by aircraft. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled trip start time, your trip may be cancelled due to missing your flight departure time – we have no control over this, so make sure you’re early! Virtually all trips involving flights require checking-in 30-60 minutes prior to your scheduled trip start time.

Multi-day packages, and expedition cancellations less than 120 days from the departure date are non-refundable, or non-changeable.

Cancellations for custom trips and/or tours are non-refundable, or non-changeable, once your reservation has been made.

Any and all trips or tours that are structured outside of the published format, programming, dates, or that are closed to be private are considered custom trips, and/or custom tours.

Full payment is due no later than 120 days prior to the trip start date. Your participation on the trip requires a full payment (zero balance). Failure to pay the final balance by the due date may result in the cancellation of your reservation and forfeit of all payments. If you made a deposit with a credit card, we will automatically charge the same credit card 120 days from your trip start date, unless you make other arrangements with us prior to this date.

Cancellations by Kenai Backcountry Adventures
If we cancel your trip, prior to it starting, due to not meeting a minimum participant requirement, mechanical problem, or due to weather, and you cannot reschedule, you will receive a full refund.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for all guests. Some of our trips require travel insurance. Travel insurance is required on all trips that include bush flights.

Travel insurance is the best way to protect your investment. Your policy should include coverage for medical, emergency evacuation, and trip cancellation/interruption, as well as coverage protecting your deposits and payments for air/land costs, should you have to cancel your trip.

We suggest a travel insurance policy with a “Cancel for Any Reason” clause. This often allows you to cancel your trip and receive reimbursement for any reason until you are within 48 hours of the date of your trip. These insurance types safeguard you against unforeseen mishaps that can occur before or during your trip.

Coverage should start when you send in your initial deposit and many insurance policies have benefits for policies purchased within 10 days of making a reservation. You may incur significant financial liability if you do not purchase travel insurance.

Depending on the carrier and the policy, such insurance is usually a small fraction of the overall package price and may reimburse you for the entire cost of your trip in the event of a cancellation.

Our preferred Travel Insurance provider is Ripcord Rescue Travel Insurance. Please see our Post explaining Travel Insurance in more detail.
